Sloppy Joe Stuffed French Bread

Sloppy Joe Bread


  • 1 tsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2 lbs Ground Beef
  • 1 Green Pepper Diced
  • 1 White Onion Chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 3 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 2 Cups Mozzarella Cheese Shredded
  • 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese Shredded
  • 1 Loaf of French Bread Cut in Half


  1. Cook the Meat and Vegetables: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Mix in diced green pepper and chopped white onion, cooking until softened.
  2. Prepare the Sloppy Joe Sauce: Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, salt, and pepper into the beef mixture. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. Prepare the French Bread: Slice the loaf of French bread in half lengthwise and hollow out the center slightly to create a well for the filling.
  4. Assemble: Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture into each half of the bread. Top generously with both mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake: Place the stuffed bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes, then cut into portions and serve warm.
