Welch’s Drops Adult-Friendly Canned Cocktails In Time For Summer

Welch’s, a brand traditionally known for its fruit juices, is stepping into the craft cocktail market with a new line of fruit-based alcoholic beverages. This move, facilitated through a collaboration with Coop Beverage Works, aims to merge the quality of Welch’s fruit flavors with the convenience of ready-to-drink cocktails.

The new line of beverages is produced by Coop Beverage Works, an Oklahoma City-based craft brewery known for its work with Sonic Hard Beverages and Tampico Hard Punch. This partnership marks a significant step for Welch’s as it expands its product offerings into the alcoholic beverage sector.

Welch’s new craft cocktail line includes four unique flavors:

  • Vodka Transfusion: Combines Welch’s Concord Grape juice with a refreshing twist of ginger and citrus.
  • Vodka Cranberry: Features the crisp tanginess of cranberry juice.
  • Watermelon Mule: Offers a burst of real watermelon juice with a ginger kick.
  • Passion Fruit Mojito: Mixes passion fruit juice with subtle hints of mint and lime.

Each flavor boasts an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 5.9% and is available in single-flavor, 4-pack 12oz cans.

The launch aligns with increasing consumer demand for high-quality, ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages. According to market research, the ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail sector is experiencing rapid growth, driven by consumers seeking convenience without sacrificing the quality of traditional craft cocktails.

“We are extremely excited to partner with Welch’s to create this lineup of Craft Cocktails that will bring classic cocktail recipes to the market with the fruit juice flavors that Welch’s is known for,” said Ryan Stump, Coop Beverage Works’ vice president of business operations. He emphasized that these products are designed to elevate the ready-to-drink cocktail experience by using real fruit juices and ingredients sought after by today’s consumers.

Chris Kwiat, vice president of corporate communications, partnerships, and transformational innovation at Welch’s, highlighted the company’s long-standing reputation for quality, stating, “Welch’s longstanding reputation for quality in fruit-based food and beverages, spanning over 150 years, speaks volumes about our dedication to consumer satisfaction. Teaming up with COOP Beverage Works marks an exciting endeavor as we expand into a new market segment.”

The cocktails will soon be available at select retailers in multiple states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, and more. Consumers interested in trying these innovative beverages can visit welchscraftcocktails.com for more information and to find a retailer near them.

Welch’s venture into the craft cocktail market with Coop Beverage Works reflects the brand’s adaptation to current market trends and its commitment to innovation. By leveraging its expertise in fruit juice production, Welch’s aims to offer a new kind of beverage that satisfies the modern consumer’s palate and preference for convenience.
