Garlic Bread Dome
Cream Cheese Garlic Bread or The Garlic Bread Dome is a popular Korean street food and now you can make it right at home! Bread, butter, cheese, and a TON of garlic are the main ingredients in this dish.
Ingredients:
For the Garlic Butter:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Bread Dome:
- 1 large round loaf of bread (e.g., sourdough or Italian)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Make the Garlic Butter:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated, creating a flavorful garlic butter.
3. Prepare the Bread:
- Place the round loaf of bread on a clean cutting board. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut off the top of the bread, creating a lid. Set the lid aside for now. Hollow out the inside of the bread, leaving about a 1-inch thick bread shell. Save the removed bread for other uses like breadcrumbs.
4. Coat the Bread with Garlic Butter:
- Generously brush the inside of the bread shell with the prepared garlic butter. Make sure to spread it evenly, including the sides.
5. Add Cheese Layers:
- Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese inside the bread shell, followed by a layer of grated Parmesan cheese. Repeat this process until you’ve used up all the cheese, finishing with a layer of mozzarella on top.
6. Replace the Bread Lid:
- Carefully place the bread lid back on top of the bread shell, making sure it fits snugly.
7. Wrap in Foil:
- Wrap the entire bread dome in aluminum foil, ensuring it’s well-sealed.
8. Bake in the Oven:
- Place the foil-wrapped bread dome on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
9. Garnish and Serve:
- Carefully remove the foil, and if desired, sprinkle the top of the garlic bread dome with fresh parsley for a pop of color and added flavor. Slice and serve while warm.
10. Enjoy:
- Your Garlic Bread Dome is ready to be enjoyed as a delectable appetizer or side dish for your favorite meals. The combination of garlic, melted cheese, and warm bread is pure comfort food bliss!
