Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

This bang bang shrimp tacos recipe is the best combination of flavors! Easy shrimp tacos are topped with crunchy slaw, shrimp taco sauce, and a drizzle of sriracha.

Ingredients:

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the Tacos:

  • 8-10 small flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, honey, sriracha, and garlic powder. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp:
    • In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    • In another bowl, beat together the egg and milk.
    • Dip each shrimp into the egg mixture, then coat in the flour mixture.
  3. Fry the Shrimp:
    • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Toss Shrimp in Sauce:
    • Place the fried shrimp in a bowl and toss with the Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated.
  5. Assemble the Tacos:
    • Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
    • Fill each tortilla with shredded cabbage, a few pieces of sauced shrimp, diced tomatoes, and green onions.
    • Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos with lime wedges for squeezing over the tacos.
