Burger King Eases Back-to-School Blues with Free Meals and Extended Deals
As summer winds down and students prepare to head back to school, Burger King is offering a series of deals to make the transition a little sweeter. From August 12 through August 25, the fast-food giant is celebrating the return to school by offering a free King Jr. Meal to its customers—a promotion that’s sure to delight kids and parents alike.
The King Jr. Meal comes with a variety of choices that cater to different tastes. Kids can choose a main item from options like a double cheeseburger, 4-piece or 6-piece chicken nuggets, cheeseburger, or hamburger. For the side, they can pick from French fries, onion rings, the unique Have-sies (a mix of fries and onion rings), or applesauce. The meal also includes a drink, such as apple juice or a soda, and a treat in the form of either a toy or a chocolate chip cookie.
This promotion isn’t just limited to students. All Burger King reward members can take advantage of the free King Jr. Meal offer when they make a purchase of $10 or more. The company has been focusing on enhancing its rewards program, making it more enticing for customers to sign up and take advantage of exclusive offers like this one.
In addition to the back-to-school promotion, Burger King announced that it is extending its popular $5 Your Way Meal through October. This meal deal, which has been a hit since it was introduced on June 10, allows customers to choose from a Whopper Jr., Chicken Jr., or bacon cheeseburger as the main item, along with 4-piece chicken nuggets, French fries, and a soft drink—all for just $5.
“We’re going to extend that $5 Your Way Meal now into October because we feel like it is working perfectly for the business, and we think customers are loving it,” said Josh Kobza, CEO of Restaurant Brands International, during an earnings call (Tasting Table).
These promotions come at a time when fast-food chains are vying for customer loyalty through value deals and rewards programs. Burger King’s strategy appears to be resonating with customers, offering both affordability and variety as the summer comes to a close.
