The Bloody Mary Burger

We have all seen those insane Bloody Mary’s they have with the food piled on the top. Now you can take your burger to that same extreme level with the Bloody Mary Burger. You are going to love it!

Ingredients:

For the Burger Patties:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend is ideal)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper

For the Bloody Mary Sauce:

  • ½ cup tomato sauce or ketchup
  • 1 tbsp prepared horseradish
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (like Tabasco)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp celery salt
  • Juice of ½ a lemon

Toppings:

  • 4 brioche burger buns, toasted
  • Crisp lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Dill pickle slices
  • Red onion slices
  • 4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Cooked bacon strips (optional)
  • Celery stalks (for garnish)
  • Green olives (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Patties:
    • In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, celery salt, garlic powder, and black pepper until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
    • Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly larger than the buns. Use your thumb to press a slight indent into the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  2. Make the Bloody Mary Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the tomato sauce, horseradish, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, celery salt, and lemon juice. Adjust seasonings to taste.
  3. Cook the Patties:
    • Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness or adjust cooking time to your preference. Add cheese slices during the last minute of cooking, if using.
  4. Assemble the Burgers:
    • Spread the Bloody Mary sauce generously on the bottom halves of the toasted buns.
    • Layer lettuce, tomato slices, and the cooked burger patty. Add pickles, onions, and bacon (if desired).
    • Top with more Bloody Mary sauce, then cover with the top bun.
  5. Garnish:
    • Spear green olives and celery stalks with a toothpick and place them on top of the burger for a true Bloody Mary vibe.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve immediately with a side of fries, celery sticks, or potato chips. Don’t forget a refreshing Bloody Mary cocktail to pair with it!

Enjoy your savory, spicy Bloody Mary Burger!
