Nacho Doritos Beer Battered Bacon

THICK BACON STRIPS BATTERED IN NACHO DORITOS BEER BATTER THEN DEEP FRIED TO GOLDEN PERFECTION.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb thick-cut bacon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Nacho Cheese Doritos, finely crushed
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup beer (lager or ale for a richer flavor)
  • Oil for frying (such as canola or vegetable)

Instructions:

  1. Preparation:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Lay the bacon strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes, just until it starts to crisp but is still pliable. You don’t want it fully cooked as it will be fried later. Remove from oven and let it cool.
  2. Crush Doritos:
    • Place Nacho Cheese Doritos in a zip-top bag and crush them until they’re finely ground. You can use a rolling pin or a heavy can to do this.
